Part 3: Up North!

We went up to the cabin last weekend. The weather was GORGEOUS! 80 degrees and sunny each day. Absolutely perfect.

Part 2: Green Bay Weekend

A couple weekends ago we went up to Green Bay to spend the weekend with Eric's folks. We went to the wildlife preserve, which is an amazing place. The animals there are all rescues and it's free to the public. There's a nice education center and for a $1 you get a bag of corn to feed the ducks and geese.

This tunnel had little windows of different animals that live in burrows. What you don't see in the pic is that Fritz is ahead of Evie in the tunnel, trying to get her to crawl through. She eventually did.

Part 1 of 53: The Playground

Sorry for the long delay. I've been lazy.

Ok, she wasn't really asleep, but Gramma was trying so hard to get her to nap! I just happened to catch her with her eyes closed.

Gramma & Grampa's Summer Vacation, Part 1

Mom & Dad came out for their vacay this past week. One thing we did was go on a Milwaukee River & Harbor Tour. It was 90 minutes long and really nice! I won a free beer for answering a trivia question correctly, so that was great too!

YAY! Evie's first boat ride!

LOOK WHO'S WALKING!!!

Eric was laying on the floor and Evelyn stood up against him and just walked over to her chair! Then, I ran into the room and she walked 7-8 steps back and forth between us for 10 minutes!! YAYAY!!! Oh, and of course I cried. My baby is getting too grown-up.

Wait, she's a toddler now?? Time to invest in band-aids!!

Height - 2'4" (15th %ile)
Weight - 17lbs 8.5oz (15th %ile)
Head circumference - 46 cm (70th %ile)

Evelyn's doing fantastic!! She's right on track and growing. Her doctor was thrilled with how great she's feeling and her physical & intellectual growth. She's such a trooper too. She had her Hep A, MMR, & chicken pox vaccines at her appointment PLUS a blood draw! She's been a wild woman who won't nap today, so we're thinking it's a reaction to the vaccines. Her blood work is perfect too. So happy with our peanut!

Favorite Foods: fruit & veggies blends (strawberries & apples, greens pears & peas, spinach rutebaga & green apple), CHEESE!, scrambled eggs, dried fruit, blueberry waffles, cheerios, wheat bread with peanut butter or hummus

Favorite Activities: crawling, cruising (walking along furniture), petting the cats, chasing the cats, yelling at the cats, rolling across the room, standing alone (yay!), walking while holding Mommy or Daddy's hands, reading books, swimming, playing and answering her pretend phone, giving sloppy wet kisses

Words Evie Says and Identifies: Momma, Dada, kitty, doggie, ducky, hey, ta-da!

Signs Evie Recognizes and Responds to: more, thank you, cheese, water, yogurt

Almost Walking!

Hodgepodge Post

Sorry it's been so long! Lots of stuff going on: some good, some sad.


First, Kristy, Lila, Evie, and I went to the Racine Zoo. Evie was very excited about the kangaroos!

We stopped and looked at the birds in the aviary.

Evie posed for the paparazzi.

Then we stopped for a bit so Evie could eat her foot.


The playground was cute, but since Evie isn't walking yet she didn't really get into playing. She liked looking at the other kids play.




Then...Evelyn turned 1 years old!!

We had a party the day after her actual birthday at Kelly & Brian's house. Kristy & Lila, Jeff & Natalie, Crystal & Dave, and Gramma & Grampa Keyser came down to celebrate our little girl.

Lila helped Evie open her presents.





I made Evelyn's cake. It's the thought that counts.

My gramma and Evelyn's great-gramma passed away the day before Evie's first birthday. Unfortunately, the only pics I got from the funeral/wake were from the reception afterwards. BUT, they are very sweet pics of her Gramma and Grampa Gudlewski.




We bought Evelyn this adorable pottery barn kids anywhere chair. She LOVES it! I don't have a pic of her in it yet, so you'll have to deal with a pic of Frankie in the chair.


Eric's birthday is a week after Evelyn's, so we went down to Kenosha for dinner at our favorite Irish restaurant, Ashling on the Lough. Then we walked over to the harbor to look at our yacht (yeah, right...).

Today, Crystal, Evelyn, and I went to the Milwaukee County Zoo. We now have a Zoo Pass and plan to go there weekly.
