Cabin! Cabin! Cabin!

Eric had a 4 day weekend for Memorial Day, so we headed up to Eagle River to the Keyser Family Cabin. This was Evelyn's first trip and she was AWESOME!!!! Even though she cut her two front upper teeth, she didn't fuss once! We broke up the 5 hour drive over two days and she slept or played most of the time. At the cabin, Evie LOVED the new swing her Gramma and Grampa Keyser bought her. Also, she enjoyed playing on the deck, grass, and in the cabin. We went into town on Saturday and had lunch and walked around the main drag. Baby girl got her first pair of moccasins, which are the cutest things you'll ever see. We had a nasty thunderstorm that night and she slept right through! Meanwhile, I was practically crying...I HATE thunderstorms because I'm convinced every one will become a tornado and staying in a cabin with no basement scares me. Oh well, we're fine and nothing happened. Such a great weekend and so in love with our little family. :-)

Yay! Evie loves her swing!

Hmmm, how can I be any cuter?

Aww, I love my grampa!

Aw, I love my Aunty Kelly!

Kelly made me the most delicious chocolate cake in a dutch over using charcoal to cook it. So incredibly yummy, even if Kelly didn't think it was award winning in looks.

We stopped over at Jean and Fritz's house on Sunday for a few hours to let Evie play and to break up the five hour drive. Evie loves chasing her ball and even caught it a few times!

Finally, the weekend ended with the world's cutest baby right after a bath...and her daddy's pretty darn cute too!

Big Kid Fun!

LOTS of pictures!

First, Evie, Eric, and I went to Greenfield Park the other day to walk the trail and play on the swings. Evie also loves the vantage point on Daddy's shoulders.

We also went to The Big Backyard. It's this fabulous indoor playground. There's a HUGE playscape for bigger kids (not pictured) and a smaller one for toddlers. If you notice, Evie's not looking at me in any of these photos. The girl is constantly on the go!

Today, we went to Kids in Motion. It's a cute place with lots of theme rooms and a toddler soft play area. Evie enjoyed playing with another little girl the same age as her.

Crawling Machine

I woke up this morning to find Evie standing in her crib...so cute! Luckily, Eric had lowered her mattress again last night. Also, she's been pushing her bedtime back recently. I think all her standing, crawling, and exploring are making for a tired little baby! Too bad she just can't go all night asleep. Oh well, Eric and I'll sleep soundly someday.

Here's a cute little video of Evie chasing her ball. Enjoy! :-)

10 Months Old!

Awww, my baby girl is now in double digits! Even better...she said "Dada" to Eric today!! He grinned the biggest grin you could imagine. Such a proud Daddy!

Oh and the little stinker is now cruising along furniture! She used the coffee table to stand up, moved along it until she reached the couch, walked along the couch, and then went back to the coffee table. Oye, we're so not prepared for a walker! We just baby-proofed for a crawler, now we have to take everything off the tables, lol.

Caught in the act! This picture is a typical moment in our house now...Evie wearing only a onesie b/c she fussed about putting pants on, standing up, pulling down every basket and taking out every single thing in said basket.

Finally put these cute owl and bird decals on the wall above Evie's dresser. So pretty and wicked easy to apply.

Daddy's a great way to travel!

Hmmm, I'll just readjust the cable box...

Playing with Daddy

Uh-oh...

Evelyn's now pulling herself to a stand!! I looked away for a minute, look back, and she had pulled herself up to the TV stand and had her hand in the dvd player. Sheesh! Time to baby proof everything at 2'2" height!

My First Mother's Day!!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

Evelyn loves me so much that she started the day 1.5 hours EARLY! Plus, she screamed for 2 hours in the middle of the night. Yeesh, thank goodness for an adorable baby and coffee...lots of coffee. Unfortunately, Eric had his drill weekend (stupid Navy), so it was just me and Evie for most of the day. First, we went to the diner for breakfast. The ladies there all love Evie and I got a carnation for being a mommy. Then, we went grocery shopping. Yeah, boring but it's gotta get done!

After Evie's nap, we headed out to the zoo. They were doing a promotion where Moms are free and babies under 1 are always free, so it was a great deal. Well, everyone else in Milwaukee thought so too. The parking was backed up almost a mile! So, I immediately pulled a u-turn and headed to Greenfield Park.

Evie went on her first swing! She LOVED it! She giggled and smiled most of the time. The rest of the time she stared at all the kids on the playground. We also went for a walk around the fishing pond. So lucky it was such a beautiful day!

Eric got home early and surprised me with a gift card to a massage therapy center. YAY!! Hour long massage here I come! Also, a poem about being a mommy that made me cry and a keepsake box. I have the most amazing husband and baby girl. They are my rocks. Nothing fancy for dinner...just appetizers and drinks at Chili's. We'll go out for a nice dinner that combines Mother's and Father's Day once we get a sitter for Evie.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day too!!
